The first Book of the Bible, Genesis reveals to us the beginning of God’s creation and also our history. We know how things got started. On the other hand, the last Book of the Bible, Revelation unveils how history of the nations and the church will come to an end, leading to the ushering of God’s eternal kingdom. Revelation gives us a glimpse on the global activities of the end times. We are currently having a very closer look on the books of Daniel and Revelation on ZOOM every Wednesday at 7 pm Eastern time. This study of Daniel and Revelation explores scriptures in relation to what is going on now in the church and in the world today. The study is very informing and enlightening. Please join us.
We have seen so far that Jesus Christ is revealing Himself and His intentions in relation to the plan of salvation. In Revelation 3:20 Jesus declares: “Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with Me.” We all know that if someone is at the door and knocking, that person is not very far from us. The good news is that Jesus is not very far away from you in these last days. More importantly, He wants to be in you. Living a life in the proximity of Jesus is not something to settle for. Life is only safe, secure, meaningful and successful when Jesus is in us!
Imagine, Jesus at the door of your heart! If we are in the house and if there is too much noise and commotion inside, it may be very difficult to hear or sense a knock outside at the door. Someone might knock for so long or so hard before we even can hear it. The decision is with the one knocking if there is no response from the inside. The one knocking may stay a little longer and keep on knocking, or may decide to leave. Selfishness and sin may block us from hearing the gentle knock of Jesus.
The last days on earth are not easy! We need to be very sure that we are connected to Jesus and allow Him to be in our lives. Life hangs precariously. This COVID-19 is claiming many lives. It happens so quick. Let us not forget that there are other disasters, natural or human made that are claiming lives daily. It is becoming worse! The Book of Revelation warns us about social unrest, pandemics, political tensions, violence, injustice and the falling away of believers. Things are getting really bad both in the world and in the church, before the glorious return of Jesus. In other words, if Jesus is still outside your life, you may only have “a form of godliness, but denying its power” (2 Timothy 3:5). As we study Daniel and Revelation, we see that while evil seems to be on the winning side, it is actually losing ground. Jesus is coronated and in control of world affairs to the very end of time. The promise to overcome is guaranteed on anyone who would like to be on Jesus’ side. Come, join the study, it is rewarding and fulfilling!
